On Jan. 3, two vehicles traveling in contrary directions were involved in a fatal accident shortly after 6 a.m., according to the Illinois State Police. The incident reportedly transpired at the Vienna intersection of Locust Street and U.S. route 45.
In the early morning hours of Dec. 1, a taxicab driver slammed his vehicle into a house in the 1800 block of Gregory Avenue in Glendale Heights, and then left the accident scene. One person inside the house suffered injuries and was trapped for a time underneath the debris of the crash. A search to locate the taxi driver was conducted by the police.

An Aug. 13 crash in St. Clair County involving a semi-truck injured two people, authorities reported. The incident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. near St. Libory on Venedy Road and Illinois Road 15. Police say that debris from the wreckage was scattered approximately 100 yards around the scene.
