A woman from Normal died in a truck-car accident by Colfax on the afternoon of Oct. 8. The victim of the fatal car accident was 63-years-old at the time of her death.
A missing stop sign appears to have played a strong role in a collision that fatally wounded a Polo High School teacher. The 32-year-old resident of Byron, Illinois, was traveling westbound in a silver 2002 Toyota. The teacher drove through the intersection, which usually has a stop sign in place, and collided with a northbound Saturn. The teacher was taken to Rockford's OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center by helicopter following the car accident.
